It is for sale through my company due to the repossession from the owner due to shortage of funds - someone is going to get a bargain here. £40k has been spent on this boat over the last 3 months and the work has been carried out by my company to a high standard. We specialise in bespoke refits and builds. Finised, she would be £70,000. Let's start with the exterior the topsides are sheathed in West Systems epoxy with a woven cloth, they are sprayed in epoxy primer and faired to a flat finish with a 2 pack polyurethane topcoat. This is less maintenance than a grp boat it doesn't fade and can be machine polished once a year so the top is virtually maintenance free. The decks have been replaced with marine ply, sheathed in west systems and then epoxyed with £12k of tek dek style composite decking (maintenance free no varnishing or oiling). The skylights have been overhauled on the top deck and are finished in varnish. This fills the saloon and galley with light. The wheelhouse has been extended again in marine ply sheathed and painted with wrap around glass windows. This will make a briliant seating and table area which would convert to a double bed. The exterior of the boat is stunning and it just needs personal touches such as toe rails/hand rails etc should you want them. From the rubbing strake down is double diag, and I believe it is constructed in teak. This has been taken back to bare wood and faired to a smooth finish with a single pack paint to allow movement. The hull is not sheathed as I don't believe in sheathing a good hull if it's not necessary. This hull will out live you and me due to its expensive construction which would not be viable to build today due to the cost of the wood. A full survey is available which was taken before we started work on her. The under side has been stripped and antifouled, with new seacocks installed. The propellor has been polished. The boat has recently been put back in the water and is lying on an annual berth in Southampton which welcome liveaboards, but could be moved to a berth in your chosen area. She is powered by a Hercules 6 cylinder diesel engine which pushes the boat to 12 knots. It was on our job list to remove this engine and give it a paint and some modern touches, such as a bigger alternator and glowplugs. It is a good runner and only needs cosmetic tidying. The inside of the boat has been started in some areas. The electrics have been run through and so has the plumbing. There is a double bed in the forward peak leading back into a teak faced half built galley. To the starboard side the heads are located which was going to have a sit down shower and electric seatoilet. This is wrapped in a expensive teak faced ply. Leading back there was to be a study area with desk. The saloon has a "U" shaped seating area which converts to a double bed. Opposite this is a single seat which also can be used as a single bed. This boat is very spacious and was a good size liveaboard with the option to sleep 7 when finished. The wheel house is a lovely light space and the whole boat has so much potential. The boat dimensions are 36ft long, 12ft beam and weighs 12 tons. She draws 3ft (so suitable for french canals) and the air draught is approx 9ft. ]]> 65ft x 11ft Widebeam Canal HouseBoat http://houseboatcentre.co.uk/listing/65ft-x-11ft-widebeam-canal-houseboat.html MTU0LTIwMTctMDItMDggMTM6NDY6NTk= Wed, 08 Feb 2017 13:46:59 +0000 65ft x 11ft Cruiser Stern Widebeam Canal Boat. We did have a mooring for her on the Thames so had her delivered to Oxford but lost the mooring before we could move her down river to it. We have found her in a sail away condition and spent the last 3 years refurbishing her and making her our dream boat for the next 50 years. We are only selling her, because our twin ( surprise) sons have arrived in winter and we had to move to the land where our familiy can help us with the babies. We hope that our beautiful boat will find a good and caring owner, who will love and appreciate her just as much as we did and can enjoy the luxurious living on her all year round. Katie Wijker is historical barge built in Katwijk in Holland around 1920. First she was a sailing work barge, than she has been converted to a motor yacht in the 1960s. She has been transporting coal and different type of cargo on the European rivers and canals in her early years. During the refurbishment we have found the base of her original mast and also a hidden box under her deck, which must have been used during the word war as a hiding space. We have lot’s of pictures showing all the work which we have done on her. We haven’t spared time and money, because we were building her for ourselves. We have rebuilt the wheelhouse, changed all the windows, insulated her, installed a new floor and cladding, constructed a brand new designer bathroom with a bath, redesigned the bedroom, the aft and forward cabin. We have also installed a central heating system, which is powered by a very efficient pellet boiler stove. Katie Wijker is 100% self efficient, we haven’t been in a marina, we were able to liv very cosy life on her off grid. She has huge water tanks providing enough water for 4 weeks, a big solar system so you do not need to run your generator in summer time at all, a built in diesel generator for winter. She is very well insulated and geared up with double glazed windows, so her energy efficiency is very high. This boat can sleep up to 8 people - 2 in the aft cabin (double bed), 2 in the forward cabin (twin bed), 2 in the living room (pull out sofa) and 2 in the master bedroom (double bed). Her lovely double glazed skylight has been custom built from high quality wood and making her living room very light and homely. She also has a full size kitchen - my wife is a keen cook. Length : 20.6 metres ( 67 feet 7 inches ) - Beam : 3.8 metres ( 12 feet 6 inches ) Her living space is about 85m2 (915sq ft), which provides a generous living space for the whole family (even for visitors). She is such a superb barge and a real beauty. We hope that she will find a good home. Lots of good people added their heart and best workmanship into her over the years and you will feel this love shining through as soon as you get on board. The integrity of the hull is in very good condition and has had ultrasonic testing to be above 7mm in all areas. She has been out of the water three times since then and the hull is in very good order. Heating. The heating is powered by a ebersbacher hydronic 10 which heats 11 radiators throughout the boat, it also has a califier installed which has not been commissioned, which is dual functions on electrics as well. All have recently fitted to a professional standard. Electricity. Major restoration works included a full refit of the electrical system which has been upgraded to a professional standard with full boat safety accreditation. The power works off mains while on shore and the 240 is powered through a inverter from the batteries while offshore which is tested and works well . Mechanics The engine is a kromhalt 5 cyclinder108hp, built in 1963, it has recently been services and used over the summers and performed perfectly with no issues. It has lots of power and sits at 4/6 knots easily. The vessel is compliant within the boat safety scheme and I drained all the tanks, cleaned them and reinstalled all of them. The bow thrusters are very effective and work off of the domestic batteries, which have been recently professionally commissioned. Tramp is very easy to sail and has been a great for our family holidays, we now wish to seek a larger vessel, hence putter her up for sale. Tramp is currently moored at Brentford Dock Marina, a picturesque spot opposite Kew Gardens. The mooring is available for the buyer. This is a non-residential leisure marina, but with an allowance of up to four nights per week on board, so it is very handy as a pied-a-terre mooring for people working around London. The mooring fees are currently £1277.43 per quarter, inclusive of VAT. ]]> Dutch Barge Branson Emily 49ft by 10.6ft New http://houseboatcentre.co.uk/listing/dutch-barge-branson-emily-49ft-by-106ft-new.html MTY2LTIwMTctMDEtMDcgMjA6MDU6Mjk= Sat, 07 Jan 2017 20:05:29 +0000 "Gracie Matilda" is a Branston Emily 49 ft Newly built and fit out now genuinely 98% done This boat was my dream, a life long ambition What you see now is exactly what I had in mind when the idea was hatched a number of years ago.
